Individual Counsellor (at depth)
Couples & Relationship Counsellor
Supervisor
I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor with 10 years practice, specialising in relationships and working with individuals and couples.
The psychodynamic approach stresses the importance of the unconscious and past experience in shaping current behaviour. I encourage you to talk about your relationships with your parents, siblings and other significant people in your life. It is working at depth so tends to be open-ended work and longer-term.
I am also an Accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) Practitioner. Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy is used for clients with anxiety and depression and is the only NICE approved psychodynamic psychological therapy for the treatment of depression in the NHS. I use techniques learnt from this approach to inform my practice.
My experience includes working with Employee Assistance Programmes and supporting clients with a range of work-based issues, such as work-based stress, demands, change, lack of support, difficult relationships, bullying, group and organisational dynamics.
As an experienced counsellor, I am also a qualified and registered supervisor for counselling and mental health professionals. I am happy to also offer supervision online.
